Lessons of Wisdom...

Are u one of them who study your daily portions and prepare for your exams much ahead of the examination date…Are the days before your exam; Revision Days for you…Ok…I AM NOT…. Shamelessly..uhmm..Shamefully, let me admit…NO…the whole semester, I would be doing everything else other than studying…and the two days before the exam were the days of Studies…I would be rushing through my subjects…Even though, my inner heart after every exam, scolds me hard for this last minute rush and irresponsibility…I never could change that nature of mine of keeping my studies till the last day…Maybe, it was the over confidence in me that made me be so…Maybe I was too arrogant to think that I could study all those portions in two days…grr…I feel so embarrassed now to admit it…

But do you think, this nature of mine could actually help me and many others…Would you believe if I say, if not for my this nature, many of my friends might have had lost a whole semester…My over confidence actually saved many from writing Supplement Papers…uhmm…

Now, before I get into the story… let me thank my class mate here…She was one girl, who used to work so hard throughout the year and still find herself BLANK, the day b4 the exam… So we both had decided on Combined-Study…where I was one person who might be seeing most of the lecture notes for first time and so knew NOTHING…and she might be seeing it the 100th time and still knew NOTHING…Our way of studying was…I would be like a Teacher, reading out the notes as if I was saying some story…and she would be like a student who seriously listened and learnt them with understanding…It worked for both of us…as I wanted someone to listen to me..and she wanted someone to read out to her…By god’s grace and her support I never had to go to any exam without learning the subject well…and she too became confident in appearing for the exams…

Life at college went on this way…till the Sixth and the last semester…rather the last exam we had to give for our Graduation course…As the course suggested, we had too many arrays of subjects to study every semester…Thus came the paper, “Entrepreneurship” … This was a subject which was done in detail for the Commerce students…so for the English Lecturers, this was completely new…Two of the Senior Lecturers divided the syllabus between them and took classes…they gave long Lecture notes and made the students equipped to face the Barrier of Examinations…I being too busy with everything else, had no time to actually even go through these notes…till that Saturday…

Monday was the last exam…Entrepreneurship Paper…ours being the first batch of the newly introduced course, this exam was almost like a Challenge for the English Department of the college…So early morning Saturday, I reached my Study mate’s door step…lol…Trust me, my mind at that moment was like a blackboard that was never touched with Chalk…My friend was like a Blackboard scribbled with Chalks all over…My mind was wandering with fear as I knew NOTHING….She had lot of fears, as she felt she knew nothing…With much optimism…we got into her bed…and started going through Lecture notes of one of the Teacher…Teacher M

Almost after 2 hours, we hadn’t progressed…the never ending pages of the lecture notes scared both of us…We decided to start with Teacher G’s notes…personally I liked her more…lol!!!somehow, G’s notes seemed more interesting and easy to learn…Soon after lunch time, we made sure that G’s portions were almost done…Again, half heartedly, we started on M’s notes…how much ever, I tried making the process interesting, the stuff seemed too confusing and boring and never ending…Essays seemed like Novels…Short Notes seemed like Essays…I hated it…we had no option..had to study…almost 1 day was over…we had just 1 more day before the exam…and we were still no where…

By 6 in the evening, I knew, we were hopeless in our War to succeed…grrr..It was then, I decided…Why not check the syllabus…and then go through the notes as per the Syllabus…atleast we would have some guide…that was the idea…

When we started going through the syllabus and trying to find the corresponding notes among the lecture notes, shockingly we realized…we had NOTHING…. All of Teacher M’s notes were completely irrelevant….She had given notes of portions which was not in our Syllabus…and She had given NO notes of portions from our Syllabus….That meant…apart from both of us…rest of the batch mates were busy studying portions which was not actually required and they would be coming for the exam without studying the necessary portions…Shocked, I immediately called Teacher G…(as u know, she was my favourite…)…She was like shocked too…it was too late to even call everybody to the College…So what she advised was, to try to find the Entrepreneurship Text Book from any Commerce students…and photo copy relevant portions and try studying in that last one day, the Sunday…A phone call to all other class mates to pass this information was done…

I could hear many getting worried, some even cried…as they had spend days to learn this practically New subject…I was still blank…That night, I walked through my street with my brother…walking into every house, asking if there was any Bachelor of Commerce, Final Year student..who could give me his Text book to be photocopied…They too were having exams, so there was doubts if they should give or not…Still, finally, we managed to get a text book…and photocopied the whole stuff, that night itself…

Sunday was like a Day on Fire…I and my Study mate, rigorously went thru the topics and somehow, made ourselves aware of the subject…Trust me, the portion was so easier than what Teacher M has given us…God knows, how could she be so careless, in making such a big error… but even today, when I think of it…IF I HADNT THOUGHT OF IT…on deciding to take out the syllabus actually saved the future of a whole batch of students…and the reputation of the College...

On Monday morning, all of us was so tensed…bcoz none of us had even time enough to study well…Atleast for me, it was not new..I was always a last minute Study person…So, maybe it didn’t make too much of a difference…We met Teacher G at the entrance…she tried hard to console us…and make us tension-less…Anyways, majority of us did the exam well…rather everybody passed the exam…and for me, I was one of the University Gold Medalist …

Out of all this…what is it, that actually made me feel bad was…Teacher M…even after knowing she made a big mistake…she never felt like coming to us and at least be there to give us some Moral Support… “To Err is Human…”… but then, she would have been regarded high if she was there to accept it too…Instead, she acted as if She knew nothing about what was happening…and she had no further responsibilities…afterall, it was matter of the future of many of the students….She failed to remember that…atleast, that's the impression she gave…

Still, I prefer believing, that day DID make some change in her…I don’t know…I can't make sure either as I had left college after my graduation…but I believe, the past cannot be changed, the future is yet in your power...as...

Mistakes are Lessons of Wisdom...

Still Waiting...

Ta…daaaa…one minute my headache was gone …and the next minute its back…godddd…why did u create these head aches… just hate them…and somehow..headache and myself are relatives…we r twins…u can see headache with me almost all the time…or rather as my bro says… “U urself is a Headache…”…uhmmm…I hope he was joking…else he would be dead now…hehe!!! I have hundreds of stories about headaches…

But as my bro said…I wouldn’t agree I am a headache…but I DO give headaches…with my Non-Stop talking…I am sure, atleast some of u might have really got some taste of headaches after reading my blog…Now, I am kidding here…u don’t start agreeing to my jokes, OK??? Let me be serious…Yeah, I do give headaches…I give headaches to people who doesn’t do their job the way it should be done…I give headaches to people who start arguing on things that are not genuine…I give headaches to anyone who gives me one…lol!!!

So naturally…headaches play a very important part of my life…and my worst enemy in that way would be the Head of Headaches…The Migraine…grrrrrrr…I hate even stating that word out…as it really takes the hell out of u once it decides to give you a visit…

And then comes its sister…Sinusitis…they both give you good times of the day…U get it, U Enjoy it…that’s it…no other way out…and for all u readers’ knowledge…I have both of them as my friends…they make their regular visits very often…they r the only friends that I wish I never met again and again…hahah!!!

By the by, last day when I had the headache, I was fearing a Migraine attack…but then it proved to be the sister…So atleast some tabs are helping me…right now, the tablets are inside me and thinking ways to frighten
these attackers…I really hope, they would do their job on time…before I lose my temper and show it on some innocent soul around me…

Lets see, how long they are going to eat me up…I am waiting to see…is Science the Best or My enemies the Better….uhmmm…But trust me friends…pray to god, that you never get these headaches…as having a head ache is like hell…and pray never to have it on days which are crucial to you…like the one big Migraine attack I had…On the previous night of my Public Exam….grrrrrrrrrr….
Anyways, for now, I am still having that irritating pain on my head and I am Still Waiting for those tablets to do their magic and save me from this excruciating pain...
Waiting and Waiting and Still Waiting....

The Answer Paper...

During school days…there were so many silly (atleast for me..) things that I just couldn’t agree to…One such aspect was EXAMS…and more than that the REPORT CARDS…a report card or a mark list was the most horrible thing I wished I never had to take home…especially if the numbers that was in it was not so biggggggg one…We used to have soo many subjects to learn like Mathematics, Science, English, Social Science etc etc…and this Stupid Card had a detailed list of the marks we scored in each subject…and if luck wasn’t with u, then the teachers would get the chance to decorate the Black and White Card with colours…that is, if you fail for one subject, they would draw a red line below that mark…Maybe this was the only place where I liked it Black & White...

My mom was a terror for me and brother during exams and days we get our report cards…I was considered the Intelligent Girl…for the same reason once my brother started the routine life of going to school and having exams and results, mom let me free…means, she didn’t have the time to spare to sit with me to teach me and prepare me for the exams…I HAD to do it myself…I WAS HAPPY….atleast, I was saved from the official thuds and pinches and slaps….(she had this peculiar habit of asking questions once she teach you something and I used to feel that she was POSSESSED by seeing the way she reacted when I couldn’t give the correct answer…) I thanked my brother at heart…bcoz of him I was saved from the pre-exam terror…So if I study well and do the exam well, I would be spared from the Post-exam terror too…I just needed to work hard and get good marks…or rather DECENT marks (and for her that meant above 90%...uhmmmm….)

But somebody else was cursing me then…that was my brother…leaving me on my own meant my mom had her complete time for my brother…so u can imagine the situation….to worsen things up…he was lazy and considered NOT SO STUDIOUS…where mom kept my Decent mark to be 90%, she just hoped my brother to get a 50% ATLEAST…so pre-exam days was the most horrible days for my bro and my mom too…she had to literally bang her own head on the walls trying to teach my bro and making him study them without forgetting them...atleast until he finished his exams…

My mom didn’t leave us free even after the exam…UNTIL, she sees our question papers and make sure that we have done our exams properly…once we reach home after exams, she would sit with the question paper and start asking us the answers…we had to recite the answers we have written…not to forget, she even asked us to write the answers on question paper…so that we didn’t have to recite them…she would read the questions and answers from the question paper and would have a rough idea of how much mark we would score…she didn’t care much about me, as she trusted me to score high…but with my bro, she prayed hard, that he doesn’t fail…. many a times, we had tried many plans to outdo atleast the post-exam terror, by telling, we lost the question paper...nothing ever worked…some how she used to manage to get a spare question paper…God knows how…

That year, I was in the 4th grade and my bro in the 2nd… that is, I was 9 and my bro 7 years old…we came after our Second term exams (exams before the Xmas holidays)…she saw my question paper and I had done the exam pretty well…she was happy…with shivering hands she started going thru my bro’s paper…he had English exam… there was not a single question which she hasn’t taught her… from the first question ‘The vowels of English alphabets are ____’ to the last question ‘Write five lines on - The Cow - ’…my brother was cool in answering every single question…My mom, for the first time in history had a breath of relief…She sighed, “Ha, this time, he wouldn’t fail…and he would be getting good marks too….even if there are spelling mistakes, still he would surely pass…”…for the first time, she was cool and didn’t wait for the results to come…she knew, this time, the result for the English paper is going to be great…

My mom was in for a shock when the results came…my brother had a red line below his English marks…where she expected to see a minimum of 20 out of 50; she saw a 5½. / 50…She was thunderstruck…she knew there was some mistake some where…Maybe the teacher didn’t correct the answer paper correctly…She was angry, bcoz she knew her son had done the exams so well…She rushed to the school, met the teacher and DEMANDED a JUSTIFICATION for the marks…She challenged that there was some terrible mistake…The teacher smiled…She gave mom my brother English Answer Paper…My mom couldn’t believe her eyes…(if you wanna see them urself, pls click on the below images for Page 1 and 2)....

The teacher just had the most easiest answer paper to evaluate...

GOD BLESS HIM!!!
